Jolyn O. Van Etten is a native of Charleston, South Carolina and has spent most of her life here. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College of Charleston, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Business Administration. Jolyn attended the Charleston School of Law where she was on the Honor Council and was selected to compete at the National Tax Moot Court Competition in Florida. Jolyn graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2007 as a member of the very first graduating class. She was admitted to the South Carolina State Bar and is a licensed attorney in the State of South Carolina. After law school, Jolyn joined a small private law firm and practiced civil litigation, focusing primarily on construction defect cases, contract disputes and negotiations, and mechanics liens. Jolyn spent a couple years in Knoxville Tennessee as an Assistant Professor of Law, teaching Property Law and Commercial Transactions, before returning to Charleston. Jolyn enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, particularly running and soccer. She also likes attending music concerts and watching football in her free time. |
